Salmon with Blood Orange Glaze

Today’s recipe comes to us from Monica Puri Bangia’s great food blog, Sharing Plate – Your Cooking Coach.

She’s an incredibly versatile chef who studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, lives in that area, and creates simple, palate-pleasing dishes with superior, healthy ingredients.

Here's what she said about her recipe: “This is a very simple and flavorful dish. I served it with black rice and roasted butternut squash … absolutely delicious!”

1 cup blood orange juice (or regular orange juice)
1 tablespoon tamari
Juice of half a lime
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • Transfer all the ingredients (except the salmon) to a saucepan. Bring the liquid to a boil, lower it to a simmer, and reduce it by half.
  • Place the salmon filet on a lined cookie sheet and pour the glaze all over. Broil on high for 5 to 6 minutes or until just cooked through.
  • Serve warm.
